Tiggy Clifford | Partner
Tiggy is a specialist employment solicitor with particular expertise in advising Yorkshire based SME businesses and senior executives.
Tiggy provides business owners and managers with practical and commercially aware advice to help them deal with tricky employment issues as swiftly and painlessly as possible. Tiggy advises employers on employment disputes (including Employment Tribunal claims), disciplinaries and grievances, negotiated exits, restrictive covenants and protection of confidential information. Tiggy also draws up effective employment contracts, policies and handbooks for employers.
Tiggy has extensive experience working with directors and executives on issues relating to their own employment circumstances, often involving a negotiated way out of their current work situations to achieve the best possible package for them, but also on terms for new employment and benefits arrangements

Emma Whiting | Partner
Emma has over 17 years’ experience as a specialist employment solicitor and a proven track record of providing commercially savvy advice.
Formerly, a Partner and practice head of the Leeds employment team at Addleshaw Goddard LLP, Emma established Torque Law, a niche employment law firm, with Tiggy Clifford in September 2016.
Emma has a wealth of knowledge spanning the full spectrum of employment law issues, with a particular emphasis on providing strategic employment advice on complex, reputationally significant and high impact matters for employers and senior executives. Emma has conducted a significant number of contentious matters, advising businesses on the defence of actual or threatened claims, from straightforward unfair dismissal claims, to more complex discrimination and whistleblowing complaints. Over the course of the last 18 months, Emma has also negotiated over 100 settlement agreements for senior executives, securing favourable outcomes on each occasion.
Emma is a regular speaker at client seminars, on training course and in the local media.
