Business Immigration Services for Employers
Engaging workers from outside the UK or relocating key staff based overseas is likely to be vital for your business, now or in the future. Whether it’s to fill a skills gap, tap into talented specialists or move senior leaders around your business to share knowledge, the advantages of engaging migrant workers are numerous. However, doing so is subject to strict regulation, which is increasingly complex.
Our business immigration practice is here to support you. We deliver bespoke commercial and practical advice, strategy and support to businesses about lawfully engaging workers in the UK, to ensure compliance with immigration requirements and UK employment law.

Sponsoring Migrant Workers
In most cases, to employ migrant workers you are required to be a licenced sponsor. We guide companies through the process of becoming a licenced sponsor and issuing certificates of sponsorship to migrant workers. We provide advice and training about the duties of licensed sponsors and the requirements of compliant HR systems.

Audits of Immigration Systems
A failure to have compliant HR systems enabling sponsor duties to be met can lead to a downgraded or revoked licence. We undertake audits of HR systems to ensure compliance, including mock audits to reflect inspections that UK Visas and Immigration may carry out, unannounced. We also carry out audits on businesses’ right to work check practices.

Business Visitors
Workers visiting the UK on business from an overseas branch are subject to the UK’s Visitor Rules. We advise businesses on the requirements of the Visitor Rules, whether it’s appropriate for the individual to come to the UK as a visitor and, if not, the alternatives.

Preventing Illegal Working
The consequences of failing to properly carry out right to work checks can be severe. We advise businesses on compliance with the right to work check regime, dismissals by reason of illegal working and avoiding race discrimination claims.

Bespoke Training
We provide bespoke, hands-on training (virtual or in house) to businesses about the business immigration topics that matter to them, including sponsor duties and obligations and the right to work check regime.
