Meet the team: Introducing Tori Jackson

Our meet the team series continues as we introduce Tori Jackson, our consultant employment law solicitor.

Introduce yourself and your part in Team Torque.

I’m a consultant employment solicitor working with Torque Law to help deliver high quality advice to clients on a wide range of employment issues.

Who/what inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

We had a very close family friend when I was growing up who was a solicitor and he was a huge support to me, answering my many questions about the profession as a young teenager, advising me what I could do to improve my chances of pursuing law as a career, helping me secure work experience, both with barristers and solicitors, when I was still in high school. I studied a Law degree at Leeds university, went straight to Law School from there and trained and qualified into the Employment team at a firm in Leeds. That’s where I first met and worked with Emma and I was delighted when the chance came along to work with her again, and Tiggy, at Team Torque.

What energises you at work?

Working with a fantastic team of people who are like-minded, professional, supportive and down to earth. It’s extremely motivating to know that Emma and Tiggy are incredibly approachable, encouraging and appreciative of good work. It’s also great to have their trust and the flexibility to organise my own workload to fit around the chaos of young family life.

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

Our weekends are very much centered around family time, as we have 2 young girls. We now have a puppy as well so weekends tend to involve local walks, bike rides, time in the garden, family meals and often a movie night. If I can squeeze in an exercise class or a run for myself that’s a bonus!

Do you have a favourite quote?

My husband is a fan of Churchill and one particular quote of his that always sticks with me because I think this is very true, both from a personal and professional perspective, is….

‘Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.’
