Sponsor Licences to be Automatically Extended

On 24 January, Sponsors woke up to the surprising news that UK Visas and Immigration are scrapping the requirement to renew sponsor licences. This is great news for if you’re a sponsor whose licence was due to expire or or after 6 April 2024 – now your licence will automatically be extended by 10 years without any fee and without the administrative burden of having to make a renewal application…happy days!

However, if you’re a sponsor with a licence expiry date before 6 April 2024, you’ll still need to apply for its renewal for a further 10 years and pay the appropriate fee (£536 or £1,476 depending on the size / status of your organisation).
