Torque Law seeks out top talent as it grows in size and reputation
Torque Law, York’s award-winning employment law firm, continues to grow in size and reputation as it recruits more team members.
Laura Harvey joins Torque Law, a Times Top 250 law firm, as a full-time as Practice Manager after 16 years at regional law firm Lupton Fawcett.

As part of a social impact initiative to foster links with local educational establishments and support early career women in law, Torque Law have also appointed Alison Coates, law student at York St John’s University, as a Legal Practice Assistant. Alison is the second appointment under this initiative, with Tabitha Graddon (now a Paralegal at the firm) having joined the team from the University in early 2024.
Consistent year-on-year growth leaves Torque Law as one of the largest employment law teams in the region, with a 15% increase in turnover this year and a coveted position on the Times Best Law Firms List 2025, alongside top international law firms. Having expanded into new office space this time last year, the firm is already in the process of securing larger office space for their next phase.
